The food was fresh from the garden prepared by “mama” in back. Served family style. The entire dinning experience feels like your Nonna and cousins are treating you to a special meal. Food is amazing. Service is stunning and the atmosphere is without compare One of our group is gluten free. Their knowledge of the food and what was safe was perfection. They prefer cash if possible but will take card. We are here several times during our stay and would come back just to spend time here again.

Going to La Tagliata topped off an incredible trip to Positano! This is the true meaning of a family owned restaurant. Everything was grown in the garden, and tasted delicious. Choice of red or white. The views were incredible, one of the best along the whole of the Amalfi. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. Also the most affordable restaurant we went during our stay there. I'll definitely be recommending this to all my friends and family that visit the region.

We dined at La Tagliata and opted for the €40 per person light meal menu, and honestly, it was anything but light — in the best way possible! The meal included three generous courses, with an amazing variety of appetizers (so many options!), a delicious selection of pastas, and to top it off, a bottle of wine of our choice was included. In a place like Positano, €40 for this kind of quality and quantity is an absolute steal. The flavors were authentic and comforting, and everything felt homemade with care. The views and atmosphere only added to the experience.

La Tagliata was one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to, anywhere! We went years ago. We’ve traveled many places over the years, but this was one of the tops. It’s family owned, and they truly make you feel like you’re family. All the food is from their local garden. Go hungry. One of the family members even gave us a ride down the hill to the taxi because it was raining that evening. If you want a truly local, authentic place , definitely don’t miss this spot. It’s an experience you will always remember.

We went to La Tagliata for dinner and it was incredible from start to finish. They picked us up in the town center and drove us up, up, up to the top of the hill, the view at sunset was absolutely breathtaking. The food just kept coming, and every dish was amazing. It’s a true family-owned restaurant that’s been around for over 50 years, with grandma and mom still cooking in the kitchen, you can taste the love in every bite. The atmosphere was warm, authentic, and unforgettable. 10/10 recommend, it is an absolute must when in Positano!

Ate at La Tagliata 2 weeks ago. While in Italy, ate at 3 different Michelin Star restaurants and NONE were anywhere near comparable to this restaurant. Food was over the top fabulous and owners were super nice and accommodating. And the price was ridiculously inexpensive! Don’t know if I’ll ever get back to Italy, but if we do, will never miss this outstanding restaurant.

We just had dinner at La Tagliata and it was an amazing experience! The view was to die for. The food was amazing and just kept coming family style. More than we could ever eat. My husband declared it the best food experience he has ever had and he has traveled extensively. It was shockingly good amounts and service especially for the price and it included wines and limoncello. I cannot rave enough. I almost didn’t book it because there were some negative reviews - but I am so glad I ignored those - and now I cannot even imagine anyone having anything but a delightful time there! The best!

Amazing food and views! Everything tasted homemade and incredibly fresh, straight from their farm. Come hungry because they serve a ton of food, honestly more than you can finish, but every bite is packed with flavor and quality. They provide free transport up from the Positano city center, which is super convenient since it’s high in the hills. It’s a busy spot with fast service and bright lights, so don’t expect a cozy or romantic atmosphere. They also prefer cash and don’t accept Amex. Definitely worth it for the food alone with generous portions, authentic flavors, and a true Positano experience.

Nestled atop the scenic hills of Positano, La Tagliata is more than just a restaurant — it is an immersive journey into authentic Italian family tradition and rustic culinary excellence. From the moment you arrive, greeted warmly by the owners themselves, you are embraced by an atmosphere that feels less like dining out and more like sharing a cherished meal at Nonna’s table.

What sets La Tagliata apart is its commitment to freshness and simplicity. Ingredients are harvested daily from their own lush garden, ensuring every bite bursts with vibrant, natural flavors. The courses come generous and hearty, echoing true Italian generosity — from the diverse array of appetizers to rich, comforting pastas, all paired seamlessly with wine chosen by you. This direct connection between garden and plate is a hallmark of the dining experience here, reinforcing both authenticity and sustainability.

The food, lovingly prepared by the family matriarchs, carries a powerful sense of home and history. Each dish boasts layers of flavor that speak of tradition, time, and dedication — a taste that lingers long after the meal ends. What impressed me deeply was not only the quality but also the care in accommodating special dietary needs, making every guest feel fully welcome without compromise.

La Tagliata’s ambiance amplifies the meal, with breathtaking views over the Amalfi Coast serving as a stunning backdrop to an already unforgettable feast. The genuine hospitality extends beyond the table; a family member even offered us a ride down the hill on a rainy night, epitomizing their warmth and attentiveness.

In a region famed for its culinary prowess, La Tagliata is a shining beacon of tradition and heart. It offers a dining experience that satisfies both the palate and the soul, making it an essential stop when visiting Positano. A meal here is not just tasted — it is felt, remembered, and savored like a treasured family story passed down through generations.
